Why use Cuticle Oil?

If you are one of my regular Bournemouth clients, you will often hear me say in parrot fashion, "Remember to use Cuticle Oil". But what does cuticle oil really do? Does it actually make much difference to your nails? Well, I thought I shall settle this once and for all and show you all the benefits to this simple oil and why I recommend it so much!

Why?

Cuticle oil is basically a moisturiser. Just like your hair or skin needs a regular conditioner, your cuticles need it too. Cuticles that are exposed to excessive cold, heat, soapy waters, or even Bournemouth's salty seas, can become dry and cracked. Cuticle oil helps to rejuvenate a chapped cuticle, restoring its health.

Applying cuticle oil to the nail bed area can encourage growth by stimulating circulation. And can also help to protect the nails from trauma.

It definitely helps in between your BIAB or Gel manicure appointments and in some cases can prolong the shiny appearance of these.

So if you want healthy, long nails, cuticle oil is your answer!

How?

Now this is the simple part..

As you've most likely seen me do with your nails, just apply a small drop to each nail and massage in with circular motions for a minute or so. Doing this once a day will really improve the look of your nails.

Where?

Now there's lots of cuticle oils out on the market so it can be overwhelming. But the best oils are usually thinner in consistency and absorb quickly into the skin. If you need any recommendations or would like me to purchase you some, please speak with me at your next manicure appointment and I'd be happy to help.

So in summary, with or without cuticle oil your nails will survive however if you want to improve the general health and appearance of your nail then rub some cuticle oil into those nail beds and you will not regret it!
